                                    And reminds you…

Car crashes from red light runners are more likely than any other car crash to cause serious injuries or death. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, red-light running crashes alone cause nearly a thousand deaths each year, and as estimated 165,000 injuries. Often times, the people injured are pedestrians or not the signal violator.

Distracted Drivers are the largest group of red light violators!

Business Ownership Topic of First 2012 Knowledge is Power Series

Walter Reed discusses doing business with Iowa's Dept. of Transportation

Creative Visions Human Development Institute along with partners AT&T and ISED recently hosted an entrepreneurial forum to aspiring business owners. The forum, which is part of Creative Visions’ Knowledge is Power Series, was developed to provide information on starting and growing a business.

The forum included a panel discussion by local business owners, consultants and governmental agencies who spoke on a range of topics from starting a business to securing funding and building a customer base.

Participants were invited to compete in a business plan contest. Three winners who will be announced at a second forum in March will each receive cash prizes.  In addition, Satyra Shorter, Stan Patton, and Hammoribi Wilson were all winners of a year subscription to Black Enterprise Magazine.  The magazine subscriptions were donated by Omaha businessman Brent D. Williams.

For more information about the upcoming forum in March, please contact Kevin Clark at 244-4003 or Kevin.Clark@creativevisionsia.org
