AS SEMESTER ENDS, CREATIVE VISIONS ENCOURAGES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO DO THE MATH- Know How Many Credits You Need To Graduate
Creative Visions’ Outside the Box learning program provides additional support to help students who may be struggling with school work and need extra help to reach academic benchmarks and graduate on time. “ As the semester comes to an end, we have seen an increase in the number of students who need to catch up participating in our day program which runs from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and in the afternoon tutorials which run from 3-5 p.m.”, said Cynthia Hunafa, the Outside the Box Learning Coach and Program Coordinator.
High school students who enroll in the Outside the Box program are asked to literally “do the math” to calculate how many semesters they have throughout high school and how many credits they should be earning per semester.
Important information for students and parents:
- A minimum of 23 credits are required for graduation (including one unit of PE credit) NOTE: Students can earn up to 32 credits.
- Students should earn at least 3 credits per semester
- Des Moines school semester ends January 13th, 2012
- New semester begins January 17th, 2012.
- Creative Visions provides access to e2020 an online credit recovery program utilized by the school district. *Students must be referred by their school to earn credits through e2020.
